Not Much New

Not a whole lot going on. Work during the week and beach on weekends. Last Saturday, we had breakfast with Ed and Luly at The Crab. My shrimp was excellent; their omelets way overcooked. Then Bob and I were off to Pasquales Beach. It was overcast, the surf rough as always, and we decided to pack it in as our umbrellas are aluminum and a magnet for lightning. Cuyutlan beach Sunday and Mexican Train at Ed and Luly's Sunday night.

I've been sleeping A LOT, and it's a good sleep. My hormone pills have kicked in and no hot flashes either. The weather is getting hotter and more humid, and the nasty mosquitoes are hanging around the kitchen during dinner time cooking. Mosquitoes are my least favorite flying bug and rank third among my all-time most dreaded pests as spiders and scorpions are first and second. Thankfully, we haven't had but a handful of appearances from the first two. We keep our bedroom well-sprayed now, but I spotted a scorpion right in front of my face hanging out on our wooded headboard about a month and a half ago. I don't know how I spotted it as it blended in so well with the wood. Well, I froze and yelled for Bob who blew in the room, took the book I was reading out of my hands, and smashed the darn thing. He kindly returned my book to me which had traces of scorpion guts and whatever else. Yuck.

I think this Saturday I'll try talking Bob into going to the waterfall at El Salto, complete with picnic lunch. I knew the beach would start getting old pretty quick. Boy, what I'd give for a house with a big pool...
Later.
